1.This doll is designed to be quite soft and flexible, so it is best to use a stockinette which is not too stretchy. If necessary, line the stockinette with the fine-woven cotton fabric, and treat the two layers of fabric as one.rnrn2.From the white stockinette cut a square 30 x 30 cm12 x 12 inches for the face mask, with the maximum stretch widthwise, and put to one side. For the body cut a rectangle 91.5 cm36 inches wide by 30 cm12 inches long and fold it in half so it becomes 46 cm18 inches wide.rnrn3.Position the body, two arm and two leg templates on the double fabric leaving enough space between for the addition of seam allowances afterwards, and draw around. Do not cut out.rn4.Machine-stitch on the traced lines, leaving openings as indicated. Cut out, adding 6 mm1, inch seam allowances all around. Trim the seams to 3 mmVs inch around the hands.rnrn5.Open up the toe area, match seams in the centre, and stitch across in a gentle curve to form the toes.Turn all the pieces right side out.rn6.Stuff the arms and legs only as far as the elbow and knee joints shown on the templates. Run a gathering stitch with double thread along each arm and leg joint, to make flexible knees and elbows. Pull up and close.Stuff the rest of the arms and legs up to 2.5 cm1 inch below the top edges.rnrn7.At the top of the legs, bring the two seams together, matching at the centre, so that the toes point forward; turn each top edge in, and close with ladder stitch. Do the same at the top of the arms, but keep the seams at the sides.rnrn8.Stitch the fingers, by hand or machine. Make toes by stitching with loop stitches, and pull to indent.
